Herbion began its operations in 1983 as a manufacturing concern. The modern manufacturing facility at Herbion conforms to the latest International cGMP standards. Its standard operating procedures have been developed on the basis of internationally accepted standards of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and are constantly updated as a result of annual audits by independent agencies. All machines, equipments and processes are properly validated to ensure consistency of production standards and it must complete a comprehensive program of Installation, Operation and Performance Qualification before starting regular operation.
Herbion obtains raw materials exclusively from its selected suppliers to ensure optimal quality which is available in abundance across Pakistan naturally. The company strictly prohibits application of pesticides and ensures absence of heavy metals and other harmful elements in the raw materials.
Herbion maintains a modern, well-equipped and automated natural herbs extraction unit, which can extract all types of plants with complete control on quality. The most advanced and latest technology is used to enhance and preserve the natural and active ingredients present in herbs. The drying is done in vacuum to preserve the essence of extracts and yield high recovery of active constituents. During the whole process strict GMP procedures are adopted and followed.
The finished extracts are processed into syrups, ointments, tablets, capsules and granules. These are later packed into blisters, bottles and containers in a state-of-the-art plant equipped with modern machines which ensures strict compliance of GMP at each stage. Accurate chemical, physical and microbiological control is applied to each step of production process which is designed to satisfy the international standards of GMP’s. All data is carefully recorded and kept in record for at least 5 years.
